DAY 1
- Arrival and transfer to the Hotel for check-in Kigali,
- There is a possibility of city tour based on the time of arrival,
- Overnight in Kigali.
DAY 2
- 5:00 am early departure with packed breakfast, drive to Akagera for a full day game drive,
- Return to the Hotel in Kigali later in the evening, lunch at the picnic café inside the park,
- Overnight Kigali.
DAY 3
- 8:00am, after breakfast transfer to Nyungwe National park for Canopy walk experience,
- After the canopy continue the drive to check-in overnight Karongi Town.
DAY 4
- 11:00am, after a relaxed breakfast drive to Gisenyi and check-in your Hotel,
- Have lunch at the beach and relax in the afternoon,
- Enjoy a sunset boat ride, overnight in Rubavu town.
DAY 5
- 9:00am, after breakfast, visit amashyuza (Hot Springs), it is optional to enjoy the hot springs experience, and view the methane gas extraction plants in the lake, you can take a boat that will take you near the hot springs,
- After this activity, we will visit the small border between Rwanda and DRC, ( it is believed to be the second busiest border after Mexico and United states of America),
- Drive to Kinigi if time allows, visit The Ellen DeGeneres centre to learn about Gorilla life in the jungle and how the Karisoke research centre has effortlessly protected the Gorillas. ( a donation of 20$ is required to support the work of the centre),
- Overnight in Kinigi lodge.
DAY 6
- 6:30am, pickup from the lodge and drive to the Volcanoes Park HQs for Gorilla family allocation and briefing,
- Drive to the head trail to start your Gorilla trekking experience,
- Drive back to the lodge for lunch and refreshment, have a leisurely afternoon and overnight.
DAY 7
- Optional Golden Monkeys trek, or have a relaxed morning and drive to Kigali for a city tour and shopping then get ready for departure.
Main activities on day 7 are as follow:
– Drive back to Kigali
– Visit the Kimironko Market for some last-minute shopping
– Transfer to the airport for departure.
